amily mediation is a voluntary and confidential process in which couples experiencing separation, divorce or other family disputes meet with a trained and impartial family mediator to consider ways of resolving their disputes.  Mediation is a realistic alternative to conflict at a cost substantially less than would arise from legal proceedings.
